The preschool where curiosity turns into knowledge!
Home / RWF Bromma
Welcome to the pre-schools RWF Bromma and RWF Mariehäll, as well as the primary and secondary school RWS Bromma. These schools are situated in Beckomberga Park, nestled in a peaceful and beautiful park area, and centrally in Mariehäll near the Bällsta Bridge. They comprise pre-schools and primary schools for grades F-6 and 7-9. Activities are conducted in separate school buildings with their own associated schoolyards.
We offer education from the age of 1 up to 16 years in grade 9 through a well-integrated educational process. Our experience shows that this journey yields excellent academic results and strong character development for each individual.
Raoul Wallenberg pre-school Bromma actively works to create a calm and peaceful environment for the children. We achieve this through well-established routines and structures, as well as a stimulating and inspiring learning environment that supports free play and encourages children’s curiosity.
When children feel secure, they are able to absorb knowledge and learning at their own pace and according to their own abilities, both indoors and outdoors. To maintain calm and focus within our activities, we always divide the children into smaller groups.
Through play and learning, we lay the foundation for future knowledge and skills. Together with dedicated educators and parents, we create a safe and creative daily environment.
Below, we highlight some of the aspects we consider especially important at RWF Bromma.
We work with the Swedish National Agency for Education’s modules to promote language development in children. Language is a central focus at RWF, and we engage daily in activities such as reading, storytelling, and encouraging children to actively participate in narratives.
With our youngest children, we often take language walks, where they can explore and discover new things inspired by the books we read together.
We use the Swedish National Agency for Education’s modules in mathematics to help children discover and explore mathematical concepts.
At RWF Bromma, we work with a thematic approach. Often, our themes are based on a book that we follow throughout the entire year. This allows us to integrate the preschool curriculum in a natural and enjoyable way.
Parents are frequently included in these themes. For example, they might be asked to bring photos of all family members from home, create a house using geometric shapes, or take photographs of a stuffed animal that stays at the preschool but is brought home for adventures. These activities foster engagement and strengthen the connection between preschool, home, and learning.
At RWF Bromma, we take a holistic approach to health. Children are encouraged to stay active throughout the day, eat nutritious food, rest and recover, visit the forest, dance, play, and be inspired by one another.
We incorporate nature into our work with the children. We frequently visit the forest or nearby wooded areas to engage their senses, discover insects, enjoy the scent of trees, and practice balancing skills.
We bring natural materials back to the pre-school, using them for creative projects, studying decomposition, conducting mathematical exercises, or as props for storytelling.
We want to emphasize the importance of having a good and close relationship with parents and guardians. This creates a sense of security for the children, which is the foundation for all development. Every child is offered development discussions and introduction meetings. We also organize activities like an autumn reflective walk and a summer celebration, where everyone is invited.
Parents are often given tasks related to the themes we work on in the departments. Additionally, we hold a parent council once per semester, where guardians are invited to discuss the preschool’s operations together with the principal.
The educators at the pre-school are highly dedicated and passionate about making a difference for every child. They analyze and evaluate the activities weekly during their planning sessions and have a systematic forward-thinking approach to ensure that all children develop at their own pace.
RWF Bromma is housed in a large, beautiful building in Beckomberga, offering many well-designed rooms with thoughtfully planned learning environments. Our pre-school consists of 7 departments.
RWF Bromma is located in Beckomberga, close to forests and other excursion areas, as well as conveniently near a bus stop for longer trips.
We have two lovely yards that encourage outdoor play. One yard is used by older children, while the other is for younger children. The yards feature swings, trees that provide shade in the summer, large sandboxes, rocks for climbing, and two fire pits where we grill with the children.
In the spring, we plant together, and each department has its own garden plot.
Each year, the educators conduct a pedagogical review of our indoor environment to ensure that there are materials that inspire and engage the children. We assess that each room has materials that stimulate language and mathematics development.
Creativity is a significant part of our activities, and materials are readily available for all children to use whenever they want to create.
At Raoul Wallenberg School in Skövde, there are 514 students. Two of them, Amanda Lindqvist (Grade 8) and Jacob Aldén (Grade 9), are both very satisfied with their choice of school. In this feature, they offer us a glimpse into their school day and warmly recommend RWS to others. When the option of “Student’s Choice” […]
