Raoul Wallenbergskolornas policy and procedures for whistleblowing

At Raoul Wallenbergskolorna, we act and live according to our guiding principles. Being honest, showing courage, compassion, and decisiveness should characterize us and how we conduct our operations in all situations. We strive to maintain an open climate, high quality, good ethical behavior, and always seek opportunities for improvement.

For us, it is important that information about misconduct comes to light. As a complement to our efforts to maintain an open climate, we have implemented a whistleblowing service. The purpose of this service is to provide a channel where events or conditions can be reported without the informant fearing retaliation. Our hope is that misconduct can be quickly identified and addressed before the underlying causes escalate.

Anyone operating within our organization who suspects misconduct that violates the law or is of public interest has the opportunity to speak up with protection against retaliation. Reports of misconduct can be submitted anonymously. (Law 2021:890 Protection for individuals reporting misconduct)

What can be reported?

  • Misconduct that violates the law.
  • Misconduct that is in the public interest to disclose.

If the report does not fall within the scope of the above, the matter should be reported according to Raoul Wallenberg Schools’ internal guidelines, policies, or procedures. More information is available for staff on our intranet.

Who can report?

  • Employees
  • Volunteers and interns
  • Individuals performing work under the control and direction of the organization (e.g., hired consultants)
  • Shareholders actively involved in the company
  • Self-employed individuals
  • Members of a company’s management, leadership, or supervisory bodies

How to submit a report?

Option 1: Report to a manager within the Raoul Wallenberg Schools organization, HR manager, or corporate management.

Option 2: Report via the whistleblowing reporting tool.

To ensure the whistleblower’s anonymity, the reporting tool is provided by an external and independent party. The reporting channel is encrypted and password-protected. The whistleblower never needs to reveal their identity unless they choose to do so. A code is required to submit a report, which is available internally within Raoul Wallenberg Schools for all the groups mentioned above. Additional internal information is available to ensure the whistleblower feels secure.

Handling of reports

Raoul Wallenberg Schools collaborates with an external and independent party in whistleblowing cases. This ensures professional handling and guarantees anonymity. After registering a report, the whistleblower can communicate anonymously, respond to follow-up questions, and receive feedback.

External whistleblowing channels

In addition to reporting to Raoul Wallenberg Schools’ internal whistleblowing channel, reports can also be made externally to a competent authority within a specific area of responsibility or to any of the EU institutions, bodies, or agencies. Even when reporting externally, the right to protection under law (2021:890) applies to individuals reporting misconduct.

Statutory whistleblower protection

The whistleblower legislation, Law (2021:890) on the protection of individuals reporting misconduct, provides whistleblowers with protection under certain conditions. In addition to the possibility of reporting suspected misconduct under the whistleblower legislation, there is also a right to freedom of expression and acquisition according to the Freedom of the Press Act and the Fundamental Law on Freedom of Expression.
